Last year Spring was a good one. I remember being put on to Frank Ocean’s “nostalgia/ultra” early in March by my guy Chris (he specializes in knowing what music is dope before the rest of the world catches on…also hipped me to The Weeknd, Odd Future, Adele and countless others)
With Frank Ocean on constant repeat in my iPod, I boarded a plane to Houston, Texas to keep my word to 6S, my good friend and dope artist in her own right, who I told I’d meet in Austin for the SXSW festival. It was a struggle getting there and the trailer her and I stayed in for the week we were there made things even more interesting, but it was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. We ate great food, took in good shows, met a ton of quality music people, and overall learned a lot about ourselves and the business we want to be involved in.
Shortly after Texas I came home and drove to Atlanta where I had even more fun. I was only there a few days but it was good. Atl is usually kind to me. I like the air there.
Then in April I came home and we shot two videos for 6S which I’m very proud of. One in her home of Cleveland and the other in my neck of the woods, DC and Baltimore.
And finally in May we went on The Road to 6S tour. Something else that was a lot fun and that I’m proud of.
I say all that to say Spring usually is my favorite time of the year because it usually brings changes where changes need to be brought and restores what needs to be restored. This is going to be the best one yet. I can feel it. Shout out to Spring 11’ and toast to Spring 12’.
